In this picture the author uses the rhetoric of the girls expression ,environment, and common values of his audience to persuade his audience that memorizing information is not efficient. To start off the author uses the environment around the girl in the picture to persuade the audience. Knowing that the audiences values are most likely not to like clutter and confusion he put a lot of books and papers around the girl signaling that a lot of information has to be remember. Behind the girl there are books but they seem to be fading away meaning that when a teacher just induces a child to just remember a test not only is it a lot to remember but the child forgets it. I think if the books haven’t been more visible it would mean that the girl knows the knowledge but because the artist decided to make the book less visible as they stretch further into the picture indicating that she remembers the text but unfortunately the information was lost. Secondly the artist uses the expression of the girl (the main focus) in the picture as confused cluttered emotional appeal towards his audience. Suspecting that his audience do not like to be confused or lost he structures her face expression in a twisted matter to illustrate confusion because of the information that is just coming and exiting from the girls memory/brain. To add on to that and I final .the emotional appeal made from the face structure and surroundings of the girl made an agitated emotional connection toward making them most likely to be on the authors side that memorizing information instead of learning is true. The audience do not like being agitated and because of the appeals and microscopic details of this picture the audience sides with the author because they do not like being agitated and confused and the clutter of paper causes that ; and the audience not wanting to be in either of those emotions will side with learning information in a more settled or calm approach whereas this photo is the total opposite of what people want or at least what the author want the audience to view this.
